TESCOM Hydrogen Back Pressure Regulators

  • TESCOM back pressure regulators are the go-to solution for maintaining the desired backpressure in hydrogen applications. In electrolysis, backpressure regulators are used for controlling the hydrogen and oxygen pressures at the outlet of the electrolyzer stack to maximize efficiency of the process and protect the equipment, as differences in pressure between hydrogen and oxygen can damage the separating membrane in the electrolyzer stack. Applications requiring hydrogen to be pressurized, such as in hydrogen refueling stations, back pressure regulators help divert flow once the outlet of the pump reaches the desired pressure.
  • Contact us and we can help you select the ideal back pressure regulator for your process needs, whether in electrolyzer or hydrogen booster pump applications.

Key features

  • RELIABLE PRESSURE CONTROL: Accurately meeting the pressure setpoint is critical to protecting equipment from unnecessary stresses, extending system lifetime and preventing downtime. Keeping the pressure setpoint can become a challenge for some regulators when outlet pressure changes, but with the balanced valve design, TESCOM backpressure regulators ensure the pressure setpoint is maintained with superior repeatability.
  • TRUSTED PARTNER: Get expert help for choosing the right regulator and options to fit the needs of your system, whether it is flanged end connections, panel mounting, or another custom feature. Need certifications? Emerson offers all the certifications necessary for hydrogen applications, such as NACE and ATEX.
  • REMOTE CONTROL: Automate your backpressure control with the TESCOM ER5000 electropneumatic controller. No physical supervision or adjustments needed – the PID control loop on the ER5000 will continuously monitor and adjust the pressure setpoint as dictated by the 4-20mA signal from the PLC.
