coaxial valve FMX externally controlled

  • The FMX valve is a coaxial, externally piloted valve designed for use in demanding industrial applications. It impresses with its compact design, high flow rates and a pressure-relieved construction that ensures reliable and efficient switching.
  • Compact & high flow rate
  • Low air consumption
  • Maintenance-free & insensitive to dirt
  • Bi-directional flow
  • Versatile

  • Compact design with high flow rate: The valves are characterised by their small and compact design, but at the same time they allow for large flow rates.
  • Balanced design: Thanks to their coaxial design, the valves are fully balanced, which means that the applied medium pressure has almost no influence on the switching behaviour. This ensures constant and safe switching, regardless of whether you are working under vacuum, low or high pressure.
  • Low control air consumption: Thanks to their pressure-balanced design, the valves require only a minimal control air pressure of 3 bar, which reduces the consumption of expensive compressor air and increases energy efficiency.
  • Maintenance-free and insensitive to dirt: The unique design minimises wear on the valve seat, even with heavily contaminated media. This makes the valves maintenance-free and gives them a lifespan up to ten times longer than that of conventional valves.
  • Short switching times: The pressure-relieved design enables extremely fast and reproducible switching operations in less than 30 milliseconds.
  • Alternate flow: The valve's design enables flow in both directions, which can eliminate the need for multiple conventional valves.
  • Extended pressure range and material design: With an increased pressure range of up to 40 bar and new material designs in stainless steel or aluminium, the FMX valve is suitable for media such as oxygen, hydrogen, ammonia or methanol, opening up new areas of application.
  • Wide range of applications: The valves are particularly suitable for lubricants in machine and plant construction, but are also used in vacuum and gas technology, in test stand construction, in ship and rail engines, and in filling and dosing technology.

coax® – Valve Technology that Drives the Hydrogen Future

müller co-ax gmbh delivers cutting-edge valve solutions for every stage of the hydrogen value chain – from production to application:

  • Hydrogen production / electrolysis
  • Storage
  • Transport
  • Refueling
  • Test benches

Our coax® valves are specifically engineered for hydrogen-based systems. They combine a compact design, high flow rates, wide pressure ranges, and the use of hydrogen-resistant materials – making them ideal for installation in tight or space-constrained environments.

With integrated limit switches, valve positions (open/closed) can be directly and reliably detected – a critical feature for automated systems and safety-relevant applications.

A standout feature: The magnetically operated coax® valves are uniquely designed to remain leak-tight to the atmosphere even if the seals begin to wear. In other words, there is no operational connection to the external environment – ensuring zero hazardous leakage, no skin contact with media, and maximum operational safety.

These closed valve assemblies are the perfect choice for demanding media such as gaseous hydrogen, liquid ammonia, or methanol – and are ideally suited for use in explosive environments.
