Purification Catalyst Testing - Research Catalysts

Research Catalysts runs its own self-built testing facility for purification catalyst performance benchmarking, ensuring that the catalysts they offer will perform as expected with varying temperature, space velocities, and gas compositions.

The standard test reactor has a 1.75” ID equipped with a multipoint thermocouple to accurately profile the temperature throughout the catalyst bed. This reactor can contain up to 500 cc of catalyst.

Onstream analyzers for O2 and H2 enable accurate dosing rates and these analyzers can be switched to measure the content of the gas once it has exited the catalytic reactor. For detection of other compounds, a GC with FID and TCD capabilities is hooked into the system and can sample from both the inlet and outlet streams of the reactor.

Gases can be mixed from multiple onstream cylinders, or cylinders with custom blends can be ordered. Heat tracing tapes wrap the piping leading into the reactor, which allows for precise temperature control of the inlet gas.
