Single Cell Fixture for PEM Fuel Cell (Low and High Temperature)

  • The HYCCO®’s single fuel cell fixture is a reliable cell fixture for testing a single cell in a high-temperature or low-temperature PEM environment. The fixture has full thermal control capabilities and can be customized to suit your needs.
  • It is compatible with all bipolar plate thickness, easy to assemble, with highly accurate compression repeatability.
  • The cell includes 2 aluminum end plates with 1 thermocouple slot for cell temperature control. End plates feature 1 or 2 cartridge heater slots for precise heat distribution and control. A PID thermal control unit can be manufactured as an option.
  • Current collectors are made of copper with a 3µm gold plating for high reliability and reproducibility. The current collectors have separate holes for accurate current and voltage measurement.
  • The cell also includes 2 insulation plates to separate the endplates from current collector, 4 x gas connectors (1/4’ NPT or BSP, 6mm), 2x O-ring with spares parts, sets of screw, nuts and washers (M8), PEEK centering pins.
  • The cell can be designed to operate in a flat or vertical position.
  • The cell can be highly customized to suit your needs.
  • Off the shelf monopolar plate can be supplied in milled graphite or using HYCCO® carbon fiber technology (milled or molded). 5 or 9 serpentines design are available.
  • Dispensed gasket can be added to the plate if required.
  • Thanks to our expertise in plate design, it is also possible to completely redesign the flow field to suit your exact operating conditions (pressure drop, relative humidity, temperature, current targets etc.).
