Aumann Lauchheim GmbH is a German subsidiary of Aumann AG (part of MBB SE), formed through Aumann's 2023 acquisition of LACOM GmbH, a specialist in laminating and coating equipment for battery electrode and fuel cell membrane electrode assembly (MEA) manufacturing. Aumann's broader hydrogen production portfolio, built on decades of winding and welding automation experience, spans coating, stacking, and final assembly for fuel cells and electrolyzers, and the company has partnered with Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH to convert a prototype machine into a series-production fuel cell stack assembly line. With roughly 900 employees across Germany, China, and the U.S., Aumann's production solutions also serve traction battery, e-motor, and photovoltaic manufacturing. The LACOM brand name is retained within the Aumann Group for its electrode- and MEA-coating technology.
