LOCTITE 577 - Thread Sealant for Hydrogen Application

  • LOCTITE® 577 is a yellow, high viscosity anaerobically curing thread sealant that is specially formulated to reliably secure and seal metal pipes, fittings and other threaded connections.
  • The product provides an immediate low pressure seal and does not creep, shrink or fray upon assembly.
  • Ideal for use on BSPT and NPT metal threads.
  • LOCTITE 577 has excellent chemical resistance.
  • The product has been deemed hydrogen ready for use on metal fittings only, according to GASTEC QA AR 214. Class 8.

  • DVGW approval (EN 751-1): DVGW Reg. No. NG-5146CQ0312.
  • Particularly suitable for use on stainless steel without the need for surface activation.
  • It not only works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces.
  • It cures in the presence of minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids and cleaners containing surfactants and corrosion inhibitors.
