NTS S.p.A., founded in 1959 as a small craft business constructing moulds and headquartered in Lallio, Bergamo, Italy (250 employees, approximately EUR 25 million in 2023 sales), added a division for compression molding of thermosetting materials in the mid-1970s, primarily using bulk molding compound (BMC) and sheet molding compound (SMC) materials, and today maintains a dedicated NTS Hydrogen business unit alongside its core moulding, thermoplastic moulding, assembly, and metal replacement capabilities. The company invests significant resources in R&D activities (around 5% of sales turnover) to increase innovation and sustainability across its processes and products, operating from a 20,000 square meter headquarters in Lallio (offices, design, production departments by compression and injection molding, and warehouses) complemented by a second plant in Arad, Romania (approximately 4,000 square meters) focused on compression moulding of thermosetting materials and part assembly operations. NTS's precision molding and metal-replacement expertise -- developed over decades serving markets requiring high-volume, high-precision compression and injection molded components -- positions the company's manufacturing capabilities as relevant to hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer components requiring similarly demanding molding tolerances and material properties. As a participant in the United Nations Global Compact (a strategic corporate citizenship initiative promoting sustainable global economic practices) and leader of the DeremCo project's automotive lighting frames demo-case using mechanically recycled glass fiber reinforced plastic from end-of-life wind blades, NTS continues applying its precision molding and sustainability-focused manufacturing expertise to serve the growing hydrogen technology component market alongside its established automotive and industrial customer base.
