Product Description

  • The PEM Water Electrolysis MEA is the core electrochemical component of a proton exchange membrane electrolyzer. It integrates the proton exchange membrane with anode and cathode catalyst layers, enabling water splitting into high-purity hydrogen and oxygen under electrical input.
  • During operation, water is supplied to the anode side, where the oxygen evolution reaction occurs. Protons migrate through the membrane to the cathode side and combine with electrons to generate hydrogen. The MEA therefore directly affects electrolyzer efficiency, gas purity, durability, and overall stack performance.
  • Tangfeng Energy offers E100, E200, and E300 PEM water electrolysis MEA series. The portfolio covers  low-iridium loading, reinforced membrane options, broad active-area compatibility, and performance designed for industrial green hydrogen applications.

Key Features

  • High-efficiency Hydrogen Production
    • Designed for PEM water electrolysis systems requiring high current density, low cell voltage, and efficient green hydrogen generation.
  • Low Iridium Loading
    • E100, E200, and E300 series adopt controlled iridium loading to improve precious-metal utilization while maintaining electrochemical performance.
  • Reinforced Membrane Design
    • E200 and E300 series use reinforced membranes to improve mechanical stability and support reliable operation under practical stack conditions.
  • Low Hydrogen Crossover
    • Performance data show low H2-in-O2 crossover under differential-pressure testing, supporting system safety and gas purity control.
  • Durability-oriented Operation
    • Low voltage decay rates under long-duration testing indicate stable MEA performance for continuous hydrogen production.
