Eaton Type L Model 31-L Gas/Liquid Separator operates as a fabricated separator used for water and particle removal from hydrogen gas streams within hydrogen-purification systems. Available in carbon steel or stainless steel construction, this unit features an in-line configuration that can be installed horizontally or vertically for downflow service. The internal separation mechanism directs moisture-laden gas into a centrifugal motion to separate entrained droplets and solids as velocity decreases, while an integrated Vortex Containment Plate prevents the separated material from being re-entrained into the cleaned gas flow. Operating entirely without moving separation parts, the design provides continuous gas/liquid separation and removes up to 99% of liquid and solid entrainment particles 10 µm in size or larger.
