Eaton Type CLC Model 35L-CLC operates as a two-stage coalescer separator within Eaton's hydrogen-purification range for the removal of fine liquid-water and solid entrainment. Fabricated in either carbon steel or stainless steel construction, this model utilizes a horizontal inlet with a vertical upflow outlet to accommodate piping systems requiring side entry and upward discharge. The first stage applies centrifugal action to remove slugs and heavier liquid loads, while the second stage employs a coalescing pad to capture smaller remaining droplets. This process successfully removes up to 99% of entrained liquid or solid particles larger than 4 µm. In hydrogen gas service, the system maintains a verified two-stage separation approach to reduce water and particle carryover before downstream process equipment or fuel-cell utilization.
