Dual Stage Venting Solutions - Dual Stage Burst

  • The Dual Stage Burst vent from Donaldson is a low-profile battery venting solution designed to provide continuous pressure equalization and ingress protection during normal operating conditions.
  • If internal battery pack pressure exceeds the typical opening pressure of 250 mbar, burst pins pierce the membrane, allowing rapid pressure relief of approximately 25 liters/second at 300 mbar. This burst vent function helps protect battery pack integrity by enabling fast degassing during abnormal pressure events.
  • The vent incorporates hydrophobic and oleophobic Tetratex® ePTFE membrane technology to protect against water, dust, and contaminants while maintaining airflow for pressure equalization. A retention cap with burst pins, integrated sealing components, and flexible interface options support reliable installation and operation within battery pack housings.
