SGHEC's Catalyst For Oxygen Removal is used in the deoxidation stage downstream of a hydrogen-generating unit. The catalyst promotes the reaction of residual oxygen with hydrogen to form water, reducing oxygen contamination in the hydrogen stream. SGHEC states that residual oxygen can be reduced to below 1 ppm. The water formed by the catalytic reaction is subsequently removed by a molecular-sieve dehydration stage, supporting production of high-purity hydrogen after electrolysis.

Use Cases

  • Electrolyzer hydrogen purification
  • Hydrogen deoxidation
  • High-purity hydrogen production
  • Water-electrolysis gas treatment

Capabilities

  • Catalytically converts residual oxygen in hydrogen into water
  • Reduces residual oxygen to below 1 ppm according to SGHEC
  • Supports downstream dehydration for high-purity hydrogen production
