The Smart electronic differential pressure transmitter APM-2 is a modular system designed for measuring level in closed tanks, density, or phase boundaries. It consists of three main modules: a central unit and two absolute pressure transmitters. The central unit calculates differential pressure based on measurements from the two pressure transmitters. The high-pressure transmitter measures the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid in the tank, while the low-pressure transmitter measures the pressure of the gases above the liquid. The system is highly accurate with an accuracy of 0.1% and supports HART communication for configuration and data exchange. It is available in intrinsic safe and explosion-proof versions, making it suitable for hazardous environments. The system offers modularity, allowing each module to be replaced individually, and is an alternative to traditional differential pressure transmitters using capillaries filled with silicon oil. The APM-2 also provides information about static pressure and temperature, enhancing its versatility in industrial applications.
