Add to compare

The Fike FIK-IR3-H2 is a fixed, triple-infrared hydrogen flame detector configured for the ultra-fast detection of hydrogen fires and explosions in industrial processes. The device utilizes IR3 spectral technology to provide immunity to false alarm sources such as direct sunlight, arc welding, and radiation heaters. The detector is constructed with a 316 stainless steel housing with a nominal weight of 3.0 kilograms, while an available tilt mounting bracket weighs 1.5 kilograms. The optical sensing module features a field of view of 90 degrees horizontally and 75 degrees vertically, providing a flame detection range up to 100 feet for a 32-inch hydrogen plume.

Use Cases

  • Hydrogen storage and infrastructure monitoring

Capabilities

  • Initiating alarm signals within 40 milliseconds of an explosion burst
  • Optical tracking of non-carbon hydrogen plumes at distances up to 100 feet
  • Isolating real fire hazards from background arc welding and radiant heat sources
  • Preventing optical window condensation and icing down to -55°C
  • Retaining internal alarm and fault histories
  • Temperature Range (in °C) -55 to 85
  • Compliant with ATEX, IECEx, FM&FMC, ANSI FM 3260
