FAAM-20 - Electrolyser Membrane

  • Application in alkaline electrolysis using liquid aqueous KOH
  • Self-activating in the cell after contact with aqueous caustic electrolyte
  • Thermal stability with no oxidation below 250 °C

Add to compare

The FAAM-20 is an anion-exchange membrane with a ternary ammonium group, designed for alkaline electrolysis using liquid aqueous KOH (6–12 M KOH). It is characterized by low resistance, high selectivity, and high stability in both acidic and caustic environments. The membrane is supplied in a dry state on a PET backing layer and requires careful handling to avoid damage. It is self-activating in the cell after contact with aqueous caustic electrolyte and can be pretreated with DI water or aqueous KOH. The membrane is suitable for applications requiring high performance in alkaline conditions. It is a non-reinforced membrane with a thickness of 20 μm and is identified by its membrane type and lot number. The membrane is also known for its thermal stability, with no oxidation occurring below 250°C, and its durability under highly alkaline conditions.

Use Cases

  • Alkaline electrolysis using liquid aqueous KOH (6 – 12 M KOH), preferentially at both, anode and cathode side

Capabilities
