EDC-Anlagentechnik GmbH, based in Tulln an der Donau, Austria (name standing for Engineering, Development and Commissioning), developed the first hydrogen refueling system in the German-speaking region, successfully commissioned in 2009, and has since implemented over 90 hydrogen filling stations across Europe, Asia, and the USA. The company's Hydrogen Smart Fueller (HSF) and Hydrogen Smart Container (HSC) turnkey solutions provide complete hydrogen refueling infrastructure — the HSC packs a dispensing unit, mid-pressure H2 buffer (storing over 1,000 liters at 45 MPa/450 bar), compressors, instrument air, and electrical cabinet into a portable, durable 20-foot container configurable for 35 MPa (350 bar) or 70 MPa (700 bar) fueling. EDC's versatile MUHF connection and control system accommodates various vehicle refueling needs with integrated heat exchangers and flexible compressor pairing options, and the company was a proud contributor to Bulgaria's first hydrogen charging station as part of the HITMOBIL Centre of Competence. Through close cooperation with Schmidberger Elektroinstallations GmbH, EDC-Anlagentechnik offers complete planning and automation of hydrogen refueling systems from power generation to the fueling nozzle, positioning itself as an established European specialist in customized, small-series hydrogen fueling solutions.
