FCT Sweden’s story started as a visionary research project at the prestigious KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 2005, Professor Anders Lundblad and his team set out to create a lightweight, cost-effective hydrogen-powered micro fuel cell that could deliver high performance in a compact form. This project laid the groundwork for MyFC, a KTH spin-off founded in 2007 – supported by a robust portfolio of patents and intellectual property.
Fast forward to 2022: as the world accelerated its transition to new energy, a new chapter was established: FCT Sweden. With a legacy of engineering excellence and a track record of commercializing technology, the company was infused with entrepreneurial spirit and fresh vision.
Today, under CEO Matthias Brendel, FCT Sweden unites academic research, engineering excellence, and entrepreneurial ambition – pioneering tomorrow’s energy through compact hydrogen solutions, reimagined for innovators in consumer and light industrial applications.
