Fuel Cell Plates
Find and compare fuel cell plates from leading B2B suppliers using technical specifications. Fuel Cell Plates or Bipolar plates (BPP) are key components of a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell. Under normal working circumstances, each cell generates less than 1 volt, but most applications demand higher voltages. In order to achieve this, several cells are linked in series by stacking them on top of each other. In this kind of setup, the Bipolar Plates or Fuel Cell Plates form the boundary between adjacent cells and act as an anode to one cell and cathode to the neighboring one. The “flow field,” which is a collection of channels machined or stamped into the plate to allow gases to flow over the MEA, is commonly found on the plate’s surface. A liquid coolant can also be circulated through additional tubes inside each plate in order to dissipate the reactant heat in the cell.
